Commissions

Faith Formation

Members of the faith formation commission cultivate and create opportunities for spiritual growth.
Each of us has a hunger to grow closer to God. As we grow in holiness, we
seek opportunities for Spiritual growth. The commission seeks to provide a variety of faith formation activities that meet the needs of our parishioners.

Small faith communities, Bible studies, presentations, series of
talks on a topic, retreats, Family Faith Formation, and other offerings will be available to help in that
growth. Faith Formation is a life-long process. We are baptized into a community of believers. The Faith Formation Commission seeks to provide opportunities for us to cont
inue to grow as a community of faith.

Inquires about Faith Formation should be sent to Carolyn Hubler (st.claircac@gmail.com 618-334-3977) or Jenn Gravert (jlgravert@gmail.com).

Meetings are every third Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Justice & Service

The purpose of the Justice and Service Commission (JSC) is to support, encourage, and challenge ourselves and our parish communities to respond to and prioritize the mandate of the gospel to not only serve our brothers and sisters in need, but to also work for justice to eliminate that need.

Education Committee

The JSC shall strive to:

  • Educate our communities about the connection between justice and service work and the gospel, between justice and service work and Eucharist.

  • Educate and inspire our communities to serve well with love, to strive to not only see the face of Jesus in those we serve, but to also be the face of Jesus.

  • Educate our communities regarding the difference between service work and justice work, and the call of the gospel to both.

Service Committee

The JSC shall strive to:

  • Be a resource for our ministries, supporting them and helping with identified needs as much as possible, encouraging volunteer involvement as needed.

  • Evaluate success of our ministries, as well as continuing need for services provided.

  • Be open and cognizant of new growing needs in the community, especially needs impacting our neighbors in South St. Louis, that might be calling us to new ministries.

  • Support the call of parishioners to service and be available for support and assistance to enable them to respond to that call, as much as possible.

Justice Committee

The JSC shall strive to:

  • Keep parishioners informed about local/state/national policies and legislation impacting justice.

  • Offer regular opportunities for action around issues as volunteer power allows.

  • Collaborate with other organizations to promote justice issues

Composition/Membership

The Commission and its committees are composed of volunteer members of our Parishes. There are 6-8 members from each Parish. The Commission is led by co-chairs, 1 or 2 from each Parish. Each Committee is led by 1 member from each parish as well.

The Service and Justice Commission will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meeting site alternates between Parishes.
