Who We are
The Immigrant & Refugee Ministry is a grassroots effort that connects volunteers with immigrants and refugees to assist them as they make their homes here in St. Louis. In order to work for greater justice for those who have resettled in our community, IRM provides education and advocacy opportunities related to local, state, and national policies. IRM is a collaborative ministry of St. Anthony of Padua, St. Cronan, St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Pius V, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Stephen Protomartyr.

Our Team
Our board is composed of representatives from our participating parishes and community partner organizations

Outreach
Are you an immigrant in need? Twice per week an IRM representative is available at the St. Pius V Food Pantry to discuss how we might be able to assist with food, clothing, shelter, and other basic needs.
Schedule:
Tuesdays 2:00 - 3:30pm
Saturdays 10:00 - 11:30am

Accompaniment
Our Accompaniment Program is a ministry of presence with our immigrant siblings as they traverse a difficult and confusing immigration process. Volunteers walk with our immigrant neighbors by providing transportation, translation, and community support as they attend required check-ins with immigration enforcement.
To get involved, contact our Accompaniment Coordinator Paula Jaimes: Accompaniment.IRM@gmail.com

Building Bridges
At our foundation we are ministry of welcome, seeking to cultivate community in a world that can be isolating. We build bridges of solidarity in our community through our Intercultural Community events, the annual Migration Mass, our home visits, and more!

Our Inspiration
"The émigré Holy Family of Nazareth, fleeing into Egypt, is the archetype of every refugee family. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, living in exile in Egypt to escape the fury of an evil king, are, for all times and all places, the models and protectors of every migrant, alien and refugee of whatever kind who, whether compelled by fear of persecution or by want, is forced to leave his native land, his beloved parents and relatives, his close friends, and to seek a foreign soil."
-Pope Pius XII, Exsul Familia Nazarethana
