News from our Food Pantry

The celebration of Thanksgiving often centers on sharing food with family and friends.  For many families in our surrounding neighborhoods, putting food on the table - much less a feast- is a continual challenge.  Census data show that more than one third of the children in zip code 63118 (where most neighbors who visit the food pantry live) and almost one fourth of the seniors live in households with incomes below the federal poverty level.  These rates are double the rate of poverty in the St. Louis Metro area.  The need around us is great.  We are grateful for the generous outpouring of time, food donations, and money that helped our food pantry make a positive difference for so many neighbors.
